“A man gets trapped in an empty skyscraper in the dark and cold without the daily necessities of food, water.”

An ordinary day turns into a nightmare for Shaurya, (played by Rajkumar Rao) lives in an apartment on the top floor of a skyscraper in Mumbai. He is ready to welcome guests either as part of a housewarming or his partner is going to join him. He goes outside and rushes into answer his phone talking to whoever in on there with him. As that happens he has already left his keys in the door. Since, he is on the top floor it’s breezy there and a big wind gust blows shut the door. Ultimately, trapping him inside.

He try everything to get out banging on the door, calling out, trying to remove the door handle everything and nothing works. As the move progresses you can see the panic set in. It seems like no matter what and how hard he tries he can’t get anyone’s attention. It’s truly like he’s all alone to face these horrible circumstances by himself.

Shaurya, does everything he can to survive as he has ran out of food and water. He unfortunately has to turn to unconventional sources for nourishment such as incests just so he can stay alive.

Our cast also includes Geetanjali Thapa as Noorie. As well as, Khushboo Upadhyay as Swati.

The production team for the film went through a lot to find the best location for the film. They searched over twenty buildings before the found the best one to bring their story to life.

This film is thrilling, frightening and makes a person wonder what they would do if in the same situation. “Trapped” is a unique survival drama.

Our films stars the much celebrated and awarded actor Rajkumar Rao. Throughout the film you can truly see his transformation as he has lost so much weight. For preparation for this role he only had liquids and vegetables. This really brought an authenticity to the character of Shaurya. Which in turn, lead to a great performance that was very believable to watch. You felt for and suffered along with the character.

This is Vikramaditya Motwane’s directorial debut.

“Trapped” premiered at Mumbai Film Festival in October 2016.

It then, went onto to receive a great response at the Mumbai International Film Festival where audiences gave much praise for Rajkummar Rao’s performance.

After, it’s release on March 17th it’s already scheduled to be available on Netflix in the upcoming months.

The music for the film is composed and arranged by Alokananda Dasgupta. Who also composed and arranged for the 2013 crime drama film B.A. Pass.

Machine Review

Machine Movie Review

March 17th, 2017

The film “Machine”, is categorized as a romantic thriller. “It’s a classic love story with a twist.”

Follows the story of the racing in culture in India. Our couple first encounters each other due to unexplainable circumstances. They get to know each other the more time they spend together. Of course, they end up falling in love.

However, just as it seems their affectionate relationship is safe twists and turns come. Then unexpected conflicts arise changing the course of their relationships and lives forever.

The cast includes a wide age range and a variety of talents. Including the following; Ronit Roy, Johnny Lever, Kiara Advani, Sharast Saxena, Dalip Tahil, Supriya Karnik, Kishori Shahane and Vivek Vaswani.

Machine re-familiarizes audiences with Mustafa Burmawala as  Ransh.  Mustafa has previously had small roles in other films and has worked behind the scenes at part of the crew. He is also the son of the director, Abbas-Mustan. What a better way than to make your leading many debut than to have your dad put you in his film. I think this was a reason that lead to the comfort of Mustafa on screen being directed by his dad.

Mustafa and the beautiful Kiara Advani play our main couple Ransh and Sarah. They are a young hot couple with lots of chemistry which shows during the scenes and in the dance numbers.

The cars in the films are almost as beautiful as the cast. From motorcycles, to race cars, to luxury cars even the car lover and enthusiast would be excited to see this movie just for that fact.

Action packed and romantic. The viewer’s hearts will race with the love that develops between Ransh and Sarah. As well as the stunts, racing, and tricks with the cars.

The music for the film is composed and arranged by Dr Zeus, Tanishk Bagchi, and Komail Shivaan.

The lyrics for the soundtrack are written by Arafa Mehmood, Niket Pandey, Mohammed Irfan and Jasmine Sandlas. With the popluar T-Series again being the production company. There are six songs on album. Themes of the songs range from soothing, romantic, and including some dance-worthy tracks on there as well. One of the main songs, “Tu Cheez Badi” is taken from the 1994 film Mohra and was recreated for this film. The original performer Udit Narayan also lent his voice to this version.

The dance numbers are young, fresh, romantic and updeat perfect for celebrating Holi.

“The Machine” races into theaters across in India on March 17th, 2017.

Aa Gaya Hero

AA Gaya Hero Movie Review

March 16th, 2017

“AA Gaya Hero” is also known as Abhinay Chakra.

Our films star Govinda is a popular actor and comedian within the Bollywood film industry. Govinda is making a silly and successful comeback to the industry. He has been most successful in Bollywood films in the 80’s and 90’s. He even reunites with his favorite co-stars Raveena Tandon.

He made his start in the business as a street dancer. Govinda has even been in political office at one point being a part of Indian Parliament.

When the director Dipankar Senapati pitched the film’s storyline to him he jumped on board without any hesitation.

Our female star is the lovely Richa Sharma who was a former contestant in the Mrs. World contest. She was even awarded the title of Mrs. World.

Govinda and Salman Khan have great chemistry together as they have worked on previous films with each other.

A brave and unapologetic police officer terrifying for the local criminals. As Govinda says, “it’s about a cop who is acting and plays different roles to catch the criminals.”

The movie isn’t all comedy though it has a lighter feel which is included in some of the dance numbers as well.

The film has had a long time getting released. With a few rescheduling and the postponing of the release date. Initial filming started in 2013. Originally, the film was supposed to be released on August 29th, 2014. Then it was postponed for March 3rd of this year.  Finally, a release date was scheduled for March 16, 2017. Govinda wanted the shooting to be all in one setting. It worked out and that was the case shooting in a record number of 29 days.

Part of this postponement had to do with the star and the producer’s view of the story. Govinda didn’t like the way the initial story was going so he wrote a whole new one and then filming recommenced.

Govinda took full control of the movie by writing, starring, and even producing the film. He has gone to great lengths for this film to be a success. Even promoting on a comedy talk show. To further promote himself and his star he is set to open a chain of restaurants called Hero No. 1.  A little bit overboard I think but wish him luck nonetheless.

The film is very silly, staged, and even over the top at times. But, if you want to see a funny film with one of your favorite actors in the 90’s this is one to check out.

Music for the film is composed and arranged by The Meet Bros, Vicky and Hardik, and Arghya Banerjee and Sameer Tandon.
